Dr. Emine C. Loxley

Dr. Emine C. Loxley- Endodontist that partners with Fountaingrove Dentistry Dr. Emine C. Loxley, DMD
Practice limited to Endodontics

Dr. Loxley attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s School of Dentistry, graduating in 1994. Serving two tours abroad in the U.S. Army’s Dental Corps. from 1994 to 2004 completing her service as a Major. Selected for the military’s intensive Endodontic Specialty training program in 1998, Dr. Loxley earned her specialty certificate in Endodontics at the Army’s Tingay Dental Clinic and the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her residency program in 2000. Dr. Loxley started her Endodontic practice in Bend, Oregon in 2004 and recently sold her practice due to her autistic son’s needs, relocating here in Sonoma County. She loves spending time with her four children, scuba diving, reading, and traveling. She is a member of the California Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontics, and the Redwood Empire Dental Society.

Dr. Dongjin Sah

Dr. Dongjin Sah graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and performed general dentistry for two years prior to entering specialty training in Endodontics. He earned his Master of Science in Dentistry and Endodontic certificate at Loma Linda University. Upon completion of his dental program, he received the Academy of General Dentistry Award and the honor of Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He was also involved in several research projects, including the outcome of regenerative endodontic procedures, the effects of calcium hydroxide, and MTA obturation technique.

Dr. Sah, who is an accomplished musician, enjoys traveling and photography with his wife, Ally.

Dr. Awad

Dr. Awad, born and raised in California, graduated from University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni Dental School in San Francisco, CA. After dental school she completed a 1-year General Practice Residency (GPR), where she served the central valley in a community clinic, and veterans at the VA Hospital. In addition, she was on-call for a Trauma 1 Hospital, where she worked alongside medical doctors, nurses, and OMFS residents in the Emergency Department. Dr. Awad has received her endodontic certificate from University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Awad enjoys all aspects of endodontics, including surgical procedures. She is committed to treating all patients as family, for patient comfort and quality-care are her priorities.

Dr. Awad is excited to move back and serve the Northern California community. She enjoys being outdoors, and taking pictures of nature.

Dr. Sahar Dadvand

Dr. Sahar Dadvand is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. As a Board Certified Endodontist, she has achieved the highest level of training and qualification within the specialty.

Dr. Dadvand has been practicing dentistry since 2002. In Iran, she worked as a general dentist for four years before moving to the United States, where she pursued her career and received her DDS from the University of the Pacific (UOP) in San Francisco in 2010. Upon graduation, she completed a General Practice Residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dental Medicine in 2011.

After practicing as a general dentist for two years in the bay area, she pursued a postdoctoral residency in Endodontics at the Boston University, graduated in 2015. Dr. Dadvand has served as a part-time faculty member at the UOP and UCSF School of Dentistry, is the past president of Northern California Academy of Endodontists, a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Having been raised abroad, Dr. Dadvand is fluent in Farsi and enjoys international travel. On weekends, she enjoys exploring the San Francisco Bay Area’s outdoor beauty with her husband and Puppy Vista. She also enjoys reading, yoga, mountain climbing, playing the piano and the Santoor – a Persian musical instrument, theater, flamenco dance, tap dance, water skiing, and skydiving.

Dr. Dadvand has experience with all aspects of general dentistry and endodontics with advanced knowledge in treating patients with anxiety, complicated medical histories, and special needs. Dr. Dadvand has also been trained in providing oral and IV conscious sedation, as well as treatment in an operating room setting.

She is dedicated to providing high-quality endodontic care and welcomes you to the practice.

Dr. Joseph Dehmer

Dr. Joseph Dehmer grew up outside of Chicago, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry, graduating with Honors in Oral Medicine and Special Patient Care. Following his training at NYU, he successfully completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at Naval Hospital Great Lakes.

After five years of proudly serving his country as a General Dentist in the United States Navy, Dr. Dehmer was admitted to the highly selective Post-Graduate Endodontics program at UCSF School of Dentistry, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year.

Dr. Dehmer is committed to helping people achieve relief from dental pain and keeping their natural teeth for as long as possible. He is dedicated to utilizing the most advanced techniques and technology available to provide his patients with the safest and most comfortable experience possible. He is a member of the American Dental Association and American Association of Endodontists. In his spare time, Dr. Dehmer enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and photography.

Dr. Justin Wu

Endodontist, Dr. Justin WuJustin Wu, DDS, MDS

Dr. Justin Wu is a board-eligible Endodontist who strives to provide quality care catered to each and every patient. He prides himself on a conservative approach both in diagnosis and in his treatments. Dr. Wu graduated from University of California San Diego with honors and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from UCLA. He then traveled to New York City, where he completed a General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. Following several years of private practice as a general dentist he returned to Southern California to pursue his passion for endodontics and completed his endodontic residency at Loma Linda University. As a Northern California native, he is excited to finally be back in the area and serve his community! Dr. Wu is an active member of The California Dental Association, The American Dental Association, The California State Association of Endodontists and The American Association of Endodontists.

In his free time, Dr. Wu enjoys running, cycling, triathlons and surfing.

Dr. Natanya Marracino

Dr. Marracino received her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA in 2005. Upon graduation she completed a General Practice Residency at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. After practicing as a general dentist, she pursued a postdoctoral residency in Endodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry with completion in 2009. She is board certified by the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Marracino has practiced endodontics in the SF Bay Area since 2009 and has volunteered as part-time faculty member at the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry. In addition to practicing endodontics, Dr. Marracino regularly lectures on the topics of health, wellness, and burnout and is the host of The Joyful Dentist Podcast. Having been raised abroad, she is fluent in Spanish and loves learning languages. Dr. Marracino is a mom of two boys and a labradoodle. She enjoys fitness, travel, tennis, and salsa dancing.

Raad Endo

Dr. Aliraad Moattar

Dr. Moattar obtained his DDS from Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC After four years of living and practicing general dentistry in California, he moved to Kansas City, where he received his specialty training in Endodontics from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He conducted research regarding measurement accuracy of rotary endodontic files used by dental students. Dr. Moattar is currently an active member of the American Association of Endodontists. Dr. Moattar is fluent in Farsi. In his spare time, he enjoys exercising, alpine skiing, soccer and traveling with his wife Dr. Farinaz Bokhour.

Dr. Farinaz Bokhour

Dr. Bokhour has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology. She received her DDS from UCLA, and after practicing general dentistry, she choose to return to school for advanced education in Endodontics at New York College of Dentistry with honors in teaching. Dr. Bokhour is an Assistant Clinical faculty member at UOP Dental School in San Francisco. She is an active member of San Francisco Dental Society, CDA, ADA, and AAE. Dr. Bokhour was raised in Southern California, and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading and practicing yoga.

Dr. Phil Waterman

Dr. Waterman went to dental school at UOP and graduated in 1980. Dr. Waterman completed his Endodontic Residency at Loma Linda University in 1992. Dr. Waterman opened his practice at this current location in July of 1992. He recently sold his practice to Dr. Moattar and Dr. Bokhour. Dr. Waterman is very happy to have a pair of such experienced Endodontists taking over his practice. He will continue practicing part time as an associate as he leans into retirement.

Dr. Rob Oliver

Rob Oliver, DDSDr. Rob Oliver- Pediatric Dentist that partners with Fountaingrove Dentistry

Dr. Rob loves working with kids of all ages and wants to show all of his patients how going to the dentist can be fun, especially with his magic tricks! His goal is to have kids grow up fearless in a dental setting and, equally as important, teach families the skills that will help keep their dental visits to a minimum. Starting them off early will lead to a lifetime of prevention!

Dr. Oliver is active with his continuing education and the newest technologies available. He has had training in the uses of ozone therapy for applications in dentistry and is a member of the IAOM (International Association of Orofacial Myology) which specializes in the position of the oral and facial muscles and habit patterns.

Dr. Rob is married and has two young children. At home, he enjoys gardening and is well-practiced at chasing gophers away! He is an avid cyclist and loves his annual backpacking adventures. West County is Dr. Oliver’s home and he likes to get his family out to explore the world around them near and far, as often as possible. He considers himself to be a lifetime learner and always enjoys spending time expanding his skills both professionally and personally.

Dr. Amber NierodeDr. Amber Nierode- Pediatric dentist that partners with Fountaingrove Dentistry

Amber Nierode, or “Dr. Amber,” is a board-certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She was born and raised in Huntington Beach, CA. Through her large family, tutoring in high school, and working at the daycare her mother owns, she knew she wanted to work with children from a very young age.
She received a B.S. degree in Neurobiology from the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Amber decided to become a pediatric dentist after spending several years volunteering in pediatric dental offices and traveling to Mexico to assist with treating underserved children. After college, Dr. Amber attended the UCLA School of Dentistry, graduated with several honors, served as president of the UCLA Student Chapter of the AAPD, and received the AAPD Predoctoral Student Award for outstanding promise in pediatric dentistry.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Amber attended Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in New York for her two-year pediatric dental residency, where she served as chief resident. In residency, she strengthened her skills for treating very young, anxious, and scared children, and children with special health care needs.
Dr. Amber practiced pediatric dentistry for 2.5 years in Fresno, CA before finding and falling in love with the beauty of Santa Rosa in 2019. She is happy to now call Santa Rosa home. Dr. Amber’s goal is to create a positive dental experience, allowing children to grow into healthy adults without feelings of fear or worry when visiting the dentist. During her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and two corgis, Clementine and Winston. She is so happy to be a part of such a wonderful community and loves being a part of the Santa Rosa Pediatric Dentistry team.

Dr. Jay Uemura- Periodontist that partners with Fountaingrove DentistryDr. Uemura, or “Dr. Jay,” is a highly regarded Board Certified Periodontist and Dental Implant Surgeon with over 17 years of experience in these dynamic areas of dentistry. His practice emphasizes dental implants, laser-assisted surgery, and periodontal plastic surgery.

Dr. Jay worked as an analytical chemist for five years before realizing that dentistry was his true calling. He found that periodontics allowed him to combine his love of science with his surgical talent and natural enjoyment of people. Dr. Jay earned his DDS degree at New York University and completed his specialized periodontal training at the University of California, San Francisco. Dedicated to providing state-of-the-art periodontal services in a caring and comfortable manner, Dr. Jay has extensive training in dental alveolar surgery, dental implants, and I.V. conscious sedation. He is licensed by the Institute of Advanced Laser Dentistry to perform a Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure also known as “LANAP” and has been awarded Board Certification by the American Academy of Periodontology

Dr. Jay met his wife Kathy while they were both attending Cal Poly. They enjoyed traveling in the US and Europe but fell in love with Sonoma County while visiting the area on camping trips up the coast. Settling here in 2003, Dr. Jay and Kathy have three children who are now in college and high school, along with two mini Australian shepherds. As a family, they enjoy traveling and the outdoors, especially hiking, biking, surfing, and SUP. Dr. Jay’s interests also include many sports, especially baseball, and soccer, along with films and music.

Dr. Philip Vassilopoulos

Dr. Philip Vassilopoulos- Periodontist that partners with Fountaingrove DentistryDr. Philip Vassilopoulos, also known as “Dr. Philip” or “Dr. V.” has both extensive clinical and academic experience as a Board Certified Periodontist and Dental Implant Surgeon. Dr. Philip hails from Athens, Greece, he completed his DDS in Athens and received his Certificate in Periodontology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2003. His passion for teaching Periodontology led him to an academic career from 2003 to 2014 at UAB. During this time, he completed his DMD and was promoted through the ranks, and enjoyed serving as Director of the Graduate Program. He is board certified by the American Board of Periodontology, has lectured nationally and internationally as well as published peer-reviewed research.

Following his childhood dream to live in California, Dr. Philip, and his family relocated to Northern California in 2014 where he worked in private practice in a multispecialty dental group. He has experience in the full scope of periodontology and implant dentistry. His main interest is to provide the best care and treatment options to patients based on solid evidence and innovative concepts.

Dr. Philip currently resides in the East Bay with his wife and 10-year-old daughter. In his free time, he enjoys cheering on the SF Giants, and he is a longtime fan of baseball great Barry Bonds. Dr. Philip also roots in Cristiano Ronaldo and likes to play soccer himself whenever he can. His other hobbies include traveling, spending time with his lovely family, and listening to music; fun fact, Dr. Philip aspires to play the electric guitar someday, rock on Dr. V!

Dr. Vassilopoulos has been invited to give several presentations at national and international meetings and he has been the author of articles in periodontics and implant dentistry. He has been well respected as a teacher and mentor and he was the recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology Educator Award in 2007.

Dr. Vassilopoulos has extended experience in the full scope of periodontics and implant dentistry. His interests are concentrated on providing the best treatment options to his patients based on solid evidence and innovative concepts. He is well known to the students and colleagues as a Master Clinician.

Dr. Raime Shah

For her undergraduate studies, Dr. Shah earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of California, San Diego in human biology with a minor in cognitive science. She then earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She was excited to move back to the Bay Area where she attended the UCSF School of Dentistry. While earning her Certificate in Periodontics over three years, she gained extensive experience in periodontal treatment along with a Master of Science degree in oral and craniofacial sciences.

Dr. Shah is co-directing the NorCal Collaborative group of the Seattle Study Club, where she teams up with local dentists and leaders in our industry to share knowledge and discuss complex, interdisciplinary treatment plans. As your periodontist, Dr. Shah will focus on early diagnosis, patient education, and periodontal treatment, including oral and nitrous oxide sedation. Dr. Shah is skilled in gum grafting, crown lengthening, extractions, bone preservation, and sinus augmentation, including the use of PRF and dental implant therapy.

Outside of the office you will likely find Dr. Shah in the great outdoors! She is an avid hiker, backpacker, and international travel enthusiast. When staying close to home, she likes to paint, practice yoga, and enjoy her Labrador retriever, Mango.

Wine Country Periodontics and Implantology

Dr. Paul Steigerwald

Dr. Paul Steigerwald- Periodontist that partners with Fountaingrove Dentistry Dr. Steigerwald received his dental degree from Ohio State University in 1984; and his certificate in periodontics in 1986 from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Steigerwald began placing dental implants in 1988 and to date has placed over 4000 implants.

Because of his many years of experience and affiliation with professors and academic institutions, Dr. Steigerwald has been involved in many of the techniques and innovations that are commonly used for successful implant dentistry today.

Dr. Steigerwald is a continuing education provider for the California Dental Association and the director of a local study club for dentists that focuses on diagnosis and treatment planning of complex restorative cases.

Dr. Steigerwald’s practice, Wine Country Periodontics and Implantology, has offices in Santa Rosa and Ukiah.

Dr. Evan Santiago

Dr. Santiago is a Bay Area native. Raised in San Jose, he graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California in 2005. After several years of working in business, he felt that a career in healthcare would ultimately be more rewarding.

Dr. Santiago returned to the Bay Area and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from UC San Francisco in 2014. Dr. Santiago continued his education in New Orleans where he obtained his Masters of Science in Dentistry and a certificate in Periodontics from Louisiana State University. At LSU he completed training in all aspects of dental surgery including dental implants, peri-implantitis, bone regeneration, sinus elevation, esthetic soft tissue grafting, laser therapy, microsurgery, and oral sedation. Dr. Santiago is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

In his free time, Dr. Santiago enjoys concerts, traveling, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Alexander J. McMahon is a board-certified surgeon of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and leads his private practice, Oral Surgeons of Santa Rosa, in Santa Rosa, CA. He
specializes in single- and multi-site dental implant placement, zygomatic implants, full-mouth reconstructions, wisdom teeth extractions, and general anesthesia for pediatric and adult patients. In
addition, his medical training informs diagnosis and evaluation of oral pathology as well as the strategic management of complex medical cases.

Dr. McMahon was born and raised in Sonoma, CA. After graduating from St. Vincent de Paul High School in Petaluma, he attended the University of California, Davis, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science (BS) in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior.

Dr. McMahon attended dental school at the UCLA School of Dentistry, graduating with the Dean’s Medal Award for outstanding leadership and academic excellence. He then completed the six-year UCLA Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, during which he also obtained a medical degree (MD) from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Highlights of Dr. McMahon’s surgical residency include a prestigious surgical fellowship from the Osteo Science Foundation and his service to the Thousand Smiles Foundation when he traveled to Mexico to perform cleft lip and palate surgeries on children with congenital craniofacial defects. As chief resident, Dr. McMahon managed and led 12+ hour complex cancer-excision operations and performed one of the first emergent surgeries in a COVID+ patient at UCLA at the start of the 2020 pandemic.

Dr. McMahon enjoys watching the English soccer league (Chelsea FC fan) and hiking with his rescued Siberian husky, Charlie.

Dr. Yoshikane

After working in private practice in San Francisco, Dr. Yoshikane arrives to our practice as an accomplished board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Yoshikane attended the UCLA School of Dentistry, where she received numerous awards and scholarships and graduated at the top of her class. After her dental training, Dr. Yoshikane completed the highly selective, six-year, dual-degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Bellevue Hospital of the NYU Medical Center in Lower Manhattan. Her training included comprehensive training in general anesthesia, cancer ablation, complex jaw reconstruction, dental implants, and dentoalveolar surgery.

Dr. Yoshikane brings both extensive training and a strong commitment to patient care. Her dedication to advancing surgical techniques and enhancing patient outcomes align perfectly to deliver the highest standard of patient care. Her precision, compassion, and commitment to the latest techniques make her a remarkable asset to the patients she serves.

Dr. Chavez’s Oral Surgery interests include treating dental phobic patients, implant surgery, bone grafting, trauma, TMJ, and facial reconstruction. Outside of Oral Surgery he enjoys spending time with his family, running, sports, and exercising. He completed his undergraduate degree at Sonoma State and his dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He then went on to complete his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Pacific/Highland Hospital.


Dr. Mogannam

Dr. Mogannam- Oral Surgeon that partners with Fountaingrove DentistryDr. Mogannam is very excited to be able to practice in his hometown of Santa Rosa where his family roots are deep. He is married to Cindy, a Dietitian, and together they have two children, Gabrielle and Peter. Dr. Mogannams Oral Surgery interests include treatment of children and young adults, implant surgery, bone grafting, and facial reconstruction. Orthodontist Dr. Brian W. Payne with his family- a partner of Fountaingrove DentistryDr. Brian W. Payne has been practicing orthodontics since 1988. He received his undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in biology. He went on to receive his dental degree from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, and his certificate in Orthodontics from UC San Francisco. He is a Board Certified Orthodontist committed to the highest level of patient care.

In addition to his over 30 years in private practice, Dr. Payne taught clinical orthodontics at UCSF Dental School for eight years and he is currently on faculty and teaches orthodontics at the University of Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry Graduate Orthodontic Department. He is involved in his community as well as many professional organizations. Dr. Brian Payne is married to Dr. Leslie Jue, a general dentist in Santa Rosa. They have two children, Jacqueline and Matthew. Dr. Payne enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, snow skiing, and backpacking.

Dr. Jacqui Payne

A Santa Rosa native, Dr. Jacqui Payne has lived in the community her whole life, except while away at school.

She attended Georgetown University, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in human science. She obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, and graduated as a member of Tau Kappa Omega Honors Society. Continuing at the UOP School of Dentistry, Dr. Payne completed her orthodontic residency and received her orthodontic certificate and Master of Science.

Bales Orthodontics

Dr. Katie

Dr. Kathleen M. Bales was born in Novato, California. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for her undergraduate education, majoring in Biology. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003 from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California, where today she enjoys teaching Invisalign part-time to dental students.

Dr. Katie completed her orthodontic residency in 2006 at the University of California at Los Angeles, where she was chief resident and simultaneously earned a Master of Science degree. Her research was focused on the orthodontic treatment of cleft palate patients.

Dr. Katie is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics as well as the local dental societies of Marin and Sonoma County. Like her father, she has the distinction of being a board-certified orthodontist and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Ana Calles

My name is Ana Calles and our patients call me Dr. Ana. My family is originally from Mexico and I grew up on the East Coast. I attended Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where I studied Spanish Literature and Chemistry. After college, I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and spent a year researching public health in Mexico City. I then received my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

I completed my Orthodontics Residency at the University of the Pacific and also earned my Masters of Science degree for my research that studied and evaluated patient motivating factors when seeking orthodontic care. I find teaching and mentoring to be very rewarding and meaningful. I maintain an instructor position at the University of the Pacific where I teach Invisalign to the dental students.

I am a board certified orthodontist (ABO certified) and an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association as well as the local dental societies of Marin and Sonoma County.

My husband, daughter, and I reside in San Rafael. We love this community and enjoy exploring the food scene and staying active around the Marin headlands.

Dr. Katie King

My name is Katie King and our patients call me Dr. King. I am a Bay Area native and grew up in Silicon Valley. I spent eleven years at the University of Southern California completing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, Doctorate of Dental Surgery, and Orthodontic residency, in which I earned a Master of Science in Craniofacial Biology. Upon graduating, I received the Harry L. Dougherty award for clinical excellence, which is an award given to the resident who demonstrates the highest achievement in clinical orthodontics. I was also awarded for my research on digitally-facilitated orthodontics, which was published on the cover of the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. I have a particularly strong interest in Invisalign mechanotherapy, early orthodontic intervention, and sleep medicine.

I am a board certified orthodontist as well as a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. I am actively involved in leadership roles within the California Association of Orthodontists and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists.

I live in Marin with my husband Ryan, who I met on the soccer field. In my free time you will find me hiking California’s highest peaks, training for marathons, playing soccer and skiing. Fun fact: I have an identical twin sister!

Dr. Ava Vakili

My name is Dr. Vakili, I grew up in the Bay Area and attended UC Berkeley for my undergraduate education where I majored in Biological Anthropology. I have a master’s in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University and worked as a research associate in biotech prior to starting dental school at UCSF School of Dentistry. I went on to complete my orthodontic residency training at the University of the Pacific where I grew a deep appreciation for the positive impact orthodontic treatment can have on my patients’ lives and their confidence.

I live in Sausalito with my fiancé, whom I met in dental school. Outside of the office, I enjoy taking group fitness classes, cooking, and traveling. I am so thrilled to be working in the North Bay and look forward to bringing my skills and passion for orthodontics to our patients!

Joseph Eliason, DDS, MSD, APC, provides one-of-a-kind care at Smile Orthodontics with offices in Santa Rosa and Windsor, California. He brings a warm personality and extensive training in cutting-edge orthodontic technology to the team.

Dr. Eliason loves practicing orthodontics and feels fortunate to be able to work on the beautiful smiles of Sonoma County. He received his dental and orthodontic training at the University of California – San Francisco, and the Medical College of Virginia.

Raised in Lodi, California, Dr. Eliason has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades, including an award for leadership by the American College of Dentists and for ethics and professionalism by the San Francisco Dental Society. He has also served the American Dental Association nationally as a commissioner to the Commission on Dental Accreditation and currently reviews scientific articles submitted for publication in prestigious journals such as Angle Orthodontist and Progress in Orthodontics.

Dr. Eliason feels strongly that orthodontic treatment should involve a relationship of trust and strives to provide a level of care that will keep patients smiling confidently for years to come. Dr. Eliason loves working with kids of all ages, from seven to 70.

Dr. Eliason and his wife, Jana, have four children of their own: Lily, Noah, Gracie, and Josie. He is an avid cyclist and loves exploring the roads of Sonoma County and the trails at Annadel State Park. Dr. Eliason and his family make their home in Windsor, California.
